This was our favorite case to design. We have a little love affair with minimalism going on in our design studio, and creating this simple-but-luxe case was a delight. Inspiration came from furniture, surprisingly enough, that featured metal accents and the juxtaposition of shiny and matte. The biggest challenge was manufacturing. Chrome coatings are hard, and getting the colors right was tricky. It was our first time making a hard case and our first time trying these coatings. We got a lot of defects at first, and it tooks hundreds of iterations to get it right. We kept going because people loved the idea and we wanted it to work for everyone. It was a long journey, but it was worth it.
